These
charming cottages, tucked away in an ancient olive grove are set
in an enchanting hillside retreat just above the stunning beach
of Palombaggia (2km).
We
have six of its 18 cottages, most of which are semi-detached and
built like traditional stone bergeries. Although designed with superb
taste and an original eye, they are the essence of simplicity –
little granite dwellings with whitewashed interiors and rustic textures,
each with a kitchenette, shower room and terrace with stone barbecue.
Through the writhing olive trees, dappled paths (some steep) and
steps climb this way and that, while the sun sparkles on the fall
of water that tumbles over the rocks between the two swimming pools.
Only granite paving or wooden decking is used, so that everything
seems to have grown organically from its surroundings.
Simple the living may be, but there are some very civilised touches.
Clean linen and towels arrive halfway through the week. Geraniums
in zingy colours sprout from everywhere. And, at the top of the
site by the pool, is a charming open-air bar with glorious views
over the bay. This serves not only drinks and ice cream, but will
order delicious breakfast rolls and croissants for you from the
local bakery. In addition both pizzerias and gourmet restaurants
are within easy reach.

- Studio cottages: air-conditioned studio with double
bed, kitchenette (2 electric hobs, mini oven and fridge)
and shower room
- One and 2-bedroom cottages have a shower room and
a sitting area with kitchenette equipped with hob
(2 electric), mini-oven and fridge-freezer. One-bedroom
cottages: double bedroom, open plan single or bunk
beds. 2-bedroom cottages have a double and a twin

- Two lovely mountain rock-pool-style swimming pools:
12m x 5m (depth 2m) and 10m x 5m (depth 2.4m)
